Chimpanzee Habituation Experience in Kibale forest national park with its big part in Kamwenge district will enable you to know how wild chimpanzees behave before they have been fully made familiar to people. The process of chimpanzee habituation takes a period of 2 years and in Uganda is only done at Kibale Forest national park. This early morning chimpanzee habituation will enable you to follow the daily activities of chimpanzee to end day such as feeding, hunting, breastfeeding, resting, patrolling and displaying until it is time to build new nests around
On this day our driver guide will pick you from your hotel or residence to start your drive to Kibale forest national park through small villages as you are viewing Uganda’s life style. On your arrival at Kibale Forest national park, you will check in at your reserved lodge to relax, have lunch and then go to Bigodi sanctuary swamp for a guided evening nature walk. The walk will take you deep in the sanctuary where you will meet several primates such as vervet monkeys, olive baboons , red tailed monkeys, etc, some antelopes such as sitatungas, butterflies plus a variety of different bird species.

Have break and go to the park head office for briefings from the UWA ranger guide and later begin your day activity of engaging in the process of making wild chimpanzees to get familiar to human beings for tourism and research studies. This is a full day activity beginning at 7:00 am. The process of habituating chimpanzees takes 2 years to be complete and the habituated group to ready humans. You will have a short break to have refreshments, lunch and then continue with your day adventure. Other primates to encounter include; Red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, Black and white colobus monkey, olive baboons, blue monkeys, Grey cheeked mangabeys and many others. Besides primates, there are other wildlife species to see such as over 339 bird species, 200 tree species and other big mammals like wild pigs, giant forest hog and warthogs etc. In the evening return to your lodge to relax, dinner and an overnight
