Igongo cultural center

It is situated in Mbarara north city division 13 kilometers from Mbarara town on Mbarara- Kampala highway. Igongo cultural center is one of those places one can relax from. It is a place that lies on the grounds of a former palace of the Ankole kingdom. It has very good gardens, cool environment, holds a museum, a craft shop and a restaurant.

Mparo tombs

It is the royal burial ground of Omukama (King) Kabalega Chwa II. The tombs are located in Mparo division about 4 kilometers along Hoima Masindi road. Many people visit this place to perform rituals and also honor and seek blessings of their fallen King Omukama Kabalega.

Karambi tombs

They are the royal tombs situated in Kabarole 4 kilometers south of Fort Portal town. It is a burial ground for 3 Kings of Tooro kingdom namely Kyebambe Kamurasi, Rukidi II and Olumi Kaboyo II.

Itaaba Kyabanyoro (Omutima Gwankole)

It is located in Kinoni Rwampara 10 kilometers from Mbarara city on Mbarara – Kabale highway. This is one of the Ankoles’ most significant cultural sites. It is this place where King Wamala the King of Bachwezi crafted the sacred Ankole drum called Bagyendanwan the ultimate symbol of power and legitimacy in Ankole culture where Omugabe can only be recognized unless he possesses it.

Semwema rock shelter

The site is about 2kilometers west of Kakumiro trading center and just 1.5 kilometres east of Munsa earth works in Kibale district. It is believed to be the meeting place for the Bachwezi making it an active shrine for the Bachwezi and underneath the shrine is a rock shelter which can accommodate between 180-200 people.
