This 2 days will take you to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola district Mukerenge village for an exclusive white rhino trekking experience and night nature walk to search for the nocturnal wildlife. Ziwa rhino sanctuary was founded with the long term goal of re-introducing white Rhinos back into the Uganda’s national parks as it was in the early 20th century when the population of Rhinos in both Murchison falls and Kidepo valley national parks was still big before they faced a massive killing because of their horns in the late 70’s and early 80’s that caused their extinction in the wild. So, Ziwa Rhino sanctuary was set up as safe breeding ground for rhinos and then re-introduce them back to the wild. The Ziwa Rhino sanctuary started with 6 Rhinos (4 from Kenya the Uganda’s neighboring country and 2 from Disneyland America) established on 70 square kilometers land that is well protected from human activities with 2 meters high electric fence which has given them a favorable environment for reproduction and they are currently about 32 white Rhinos at Ziwa rhino sanctuary with 2 at Entebbe wildlife education center (Former Entebbe Zoo). This makes Ziwa Rhino sanctuary the only place in Uganda where you can meet white rhinos in Uganda and they are members of the big five family in African jungle and these include; Elephants, Rhinos, Leopards, Lions and caped Buffaloes. Presently the sanctuary is home to twenty two (22) southern white rhinos.
After having breakfast at your hotel or residence, our company representative who will be your driver guide will meet you for a short briefing about your 2 days tour to Ziwa rhino sanctuary and later start your drive to Ziwa rhino sanctuary through the famous Luwero Triangle to Ziwa rhino Santuary in Nakasongola District. On your arrival at Ziwa rhino sanctuary, you will check in at your reserved lodge, have a short break to relax and later go to the ground to meet your local site for briefing about the guidelines to follow during walk to meet the giant peaceful rhinos and then set off for rhino experience where you will have a chance to encounter rhinos close to their feet so you will be able to see all their body features and have the best position to take memorial photos from a closer range, our guide will give you more information about everything that you will meet during your rhino experience walk such as the rare bird species. You will have a maximum of one hour to be with rhinos while watching them, taking photos and asking as many questions as you would want about rhinos and the entire place. After your an unforgettable tour experience with rhinos, return to your lodge to have lunch, relax and later go for night nature walk. During your guided night nature walk at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, have a chance to listen to the melodies of the wild birds and mammals as you move through the night with knowledgeable guides, prepare to encounter some of nocturnal residents of the sanctuary both mammals and bird species such as bats, leopard by chance and many others. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Wake up very early in the morning to have a heavy breakfast and go for your guided nature walks through the Sanctuary where you will have an opportunity to encounter numerous mammals such as Waterbucks, Ground Squirrels, Oribis, Bush duikers, Hartebeest, Grey Duiker, Reedbuck and Bush Bucks, some primates such as vervet monkeys, reptiles like the large African rock Pythons, Lizards, and numerous insect species that will give you the incredible taste of the Uganda’s wilderness Safari. Then return to the lodge to check out and embark on your return drive to Kampala at your residence or any hotel or Entebbe international airport to meet your return flight
